The Jewish General Hospital located in Montreal, Québec, is one of Canada’s top research and university teaching hospitals, and their planned Skin Cancer Centre will provide Canada with its first National Tumour Registry, spearheaded by one of only 13 highly specialized skin cancer surgeons in the country. The David Suzuki Foundation is one of the world’s most recognized and trusted environmental groups, working through science and education to protect the diversity of nature and our quality of life, now and for the future.

Funds raised through donations and sponsorship of the 12000km Tour will benefit the Jewish General Hospital’s Skin Cancer Centre and the David Suzuki Foundation.

The JGH will use the money to help build the Skin Cancer Centre and create Canada’s first National Skin Cancer Tumour Registry. The centre aims to consolidate specialized resources and health care specialists in an effort to address the growing need for specialized skin cancer treatments and responsive patient care.

Money raised for the David Suzuki Foundation will be directed toward climate change awareness and action. Since the David Suzuki Foundation works on a variety of projects related to climate change science, policy, and public outreach, funds could be used in any number of ways that align with Ryanʼs vision of educating young Canadians and slowing the effects of global warming.
